Bio: Patrick Dempsey grew up in Lewiston, attended St. Dominic Regional High School in the nearby town of Auburn. As a tenner he was diagnosed with dyslexia. Like many others with the disease he struggled with the then misunderstood learning disability, so he shifted focus from his weaker subjects to his talent for shaking his booty in dance and acting. In 1981 Dempsey won the Talent America Contest in 1981 and was offered an audition of the gangly youngster for the San Francisco production of “Torch Song Trilogy.” He got the role and portrayed the role of David and toured with the company for several months. After several other roles on tours and minor movie roles he landed his big break in teeny bopper movie "Can't Buy Me Love." After which he didn't have any more big hits until landing the gig on Grey's Anatomy, where he earned the title McDreamy as Dr. Derek Shepherd. His latest hit was the Disney movie "Enchanted," which he co-stared with Amy Adams and just hit DVD in US a few weeks ago.
